So me and a few friends are making a skateboard video, and we need a camera. I already have a HI8 camera, but we can't use that since it can't go to the computer. I don't need the latest technology, but preferably a cam with 37mm front threads.
We're on a budget of about 500 USD.
Before you invest in a new camcorder - you might consider using an AV capture device to transfer the videos from your (analog) Hi8 camcorder to a computer.

it all depends. are you planing on editing the videos with slow-,o or something?? i would recomend a minidv camera beacause the quility is better and cheaper. I edit and have taped skateboarding and one camera looks the same as the next its the photographer and the editing that makes it good.
