I have no experience but for a long time i've admired and watched skateboarding videos… Im in love with it yet I dont do it.
Of course it's worth it! You're young, you have the rest of your life to enjoy skating 
I have friends who are in their early 20's who just took up longboarding and they are so glad they did. It's always fun to try something new… and what if it turns out to be your favorite thing to do?! You'll never know until you've tried. Try it out!

Go for it! Your never to old to try doing something that you love. Just remember to play it safe and have a great time in that half pipe

yes i first started at the age of 13, I'm 18 now. i had a walmart skateboard which was a big NO! the grip tape came off in about a week, and i broke it in about a month. If the deck isn't Canadian maple don't buy it. go to your local skate shop or academy, and buy one with a curve in the deck and a pro truck.

o yeah get some skateboarding shoes, because that grip tape will rip though all you shoes.
last but not least i have never broking any bone or hurt myself doing a trick. i never wore any helmets or pads, but you should because i have friends that broke their ankles and arms skateboarding, probably because they skate too hard, so go easy like me, don't throw your body weight around on the skateboard like crazy, and remember to have fun.

Most people start skating around 12, 13, and 14. I, however, started skating at nine.
