I am 16 years old pretty athletic I’m on the Varsity Football team….I have never really learned I’ve messed around with friends coasting down small hills on a skateboard and have pretty good balance….but realistically do you think it is to late?
I will be yet another person to say it sure isn’t too late. And you’re 16, so how come you’re asking like you’re 90? haha. :)….and I was really happy to see the one guy above me who answered with the thing about someone he knows who started at 54. Wow, more people should do that. haha.
In my area, which isn’t so great for skating to begin with, it’s rare to see someone skating who looks like they’re in their early 20’s, let alone older. It’s too bad society in general looks at skateboarding as a thing that’s only for teenagers or younger kids. I think it’s cool how it isn’t all mainstream like football, etc., but it would be nice to have it be generally accepted more, and also have more older people who get into it, or don’t stop doing it mostly because of their age.

Nope its really never too late to start all ages of people skate recreationally when they have some free time and love to do it. No, 16 is a perfectly young age you have plenty of time to work your way up as a skater. There are people that dont even start until college, for that, so you definitely arent too old

no way is it too late to start skating at 16.
Pat Duffy (a pro skater, and a pretty good one) learned to tre flip (360 flip) when he was 19 and now hes pro so dont worry about it.

It’s definitely not too late to start. If you want to wait until you are 30, that’s fine. I know someone who started when she was 54.

It is Never to late to start skating. Since you have good balance, you have a little jump start already. My advice for you, if you don’t have a lot of patients, develop some, because you aren’t going to get a trick first time. If I were you, I would learn how to Ollie, shuvit or Pop-shove it, How to drop In, and A Kickflip. I learn a lot of my tricks from youtube, so Go on there to get some Ideas.
Good Luck Skating!
