I really want to skate,I wanna get serious..Skate equipment are expensive.
Is this your own money you would be spending? If so I would personally encourage my son to participate, as long as he continued in school and kept the high honor grades he's been getting. Get odd jobs and pay for your own gear. Practice practice practice….and if you are good enough eventually you will get sponsors who will pay for your equipment and competitions. Not to mention that winning competitions can win you money as well and help fund your skateboarding.

LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's NOT your money you would be spending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyday living costs are expensive and if you're mother is living within a budget - then skate boarding is not a necessity!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get a damn job if you want to buy skateboarding stuff. Don't know how old you are but there's way to make money if your under 16. You can around your neighborhood and do yard work. IF you are 16 go work at fast food. If you want something you have to work for it your mom is not a bank. It's called being responsible

Maybe get some second hand stuff for now. Then when you get some more cash buy your gear. Also try getting a job. I know it's hard but I have to work for whatever I want and it's not cheap. I have to save for the laptop my parents won't buy me and making 10$ every 2 weeks isn't great.

If you are deadly serious then get a job and pay for the equipment yourself.

Hmm, you need to get a job, and pay for the equipment. That way, she won't say 'don't spend money for skateboarding..' it will also teach you responsibility. If you are under 16, find ways to get money. There are ways, like mowing, babysitting, cleaning people's yards, etc.
God Bless!
