i am trying to convince my mother that skate shoes have foot support? i am wondering if they actually do, or am i just fighting for nothing. i figure they would because skateboarding revolves around your feet so why would they desgine shoes that do not support your feet.
please help me with this.
thankyou,
michael
If you mean the kind of foot support needed for running, then no, they do not offer good support for your feet, or perhaps more importantly your knees. Keep in mind that when skateboarding, your feet are mostly planted on your board, with only occasional impact. When running, each foot is bearing the full weight of your body impact several times in a row for a long period of time. I have run in shoes not designed for running and used to wear skate shoes all the time; it is a fast track to sore joints, shin splints, and blisters. It is worth it if you are serious about running to get some good running shoes that you can dedicate just for running.
There are no skateboard shops as you would recognize in the U.S. but there are some places to find skateboard equipment.
In Ha Noi, there's a few vendors that sell inline skates, skateboards and razor boards in the Old Quarter about two blocks North of Hoan Kiem Lake on what I call "Toy" street (L.D. would have a better idea of which street I'm talking about).
In Sai Gon, I would look around Au Dong Market. If it's sold anywhere in Vietnam, it will be sold in Au Dong Market.
Once you find skateboard equipment in Vietnam, the next challenge is finding a place to skate. As far as I know, there are no skate parks in Vietnam and skating in the streets is more dangerous than playing Russian Roulette.
Good luck and be careful!
where can i buy enjoi (the skateboarding team) shirts…..not inlcuding the internet…like what stores?
Try Sports Authority.
Good luck.
Does anyone know a website or someone that I can purchase/get a cheap (30$ or less) complete skateboard, or anything involving skateboarding? or a website that gives out free stuff that involves skateboarding.
ebay.com
Well, I heard that Moose Blanks (complete) break easily but have great pop, and are pretty light and cheap. The Stateside Poison (complete) was pretty heavy but wouldn’t break that easily. Also, for me both are equally expensive because of the shipping to the Netherlands.
Buying a complete is the only option for me by the way, because it will be too expensive not to.
Your opinion please.
the best thing for you to do is get the The Stateside Poison, think about this if you get the other one and you snap it in a week you are screwed. the The Stateside Poison isn’t that heavy, so if i were you i would go with the The Stateside Poison.
I want 2 order my first skateboard equipment from utilityboardsupply.com and i saw a rodney mullen magnesium slider truck in light blue and:
#1: I looked where it has the "S" on it that stands for slider and it didn,t say magnesium there or nothing
#2: when I looked on other good websites like skatewarehouse.com or another website they only have in red and black (and in skatewarehouse.com's case that and grey silver) and I 've been searching for many good skate websites to get my equipment from.
#3: on skatewarehouse.com the silver and grey magenesium slider trucks in said "magnesium" above the "S" that stands for slider.
PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE I WANT SOME LIGHT TRUCKS AND WHEELS SO IT WILL BE EASIER FOR ME TO SKATE SINCE IM BEGINNING
id never known for them to be made of anything but magnesium?………..
ive just asked for mag sliders and thats what i was sent…….
i heard theres a difference between the two and I'm not sure what it is. i have a ramp skateboard ( i think cause a ramp pr made it and its different from what my friend has) and if there is a difference should i get a flat land to ride flat or is it ok to ride my ramp one with in flat land ( sorry if i sound stupid i just started a week ago)
Vert boards are wider than street boards. Street boards generally range from 7.5-8.5 in wide and vert boards are 8.5-10 in wide. If you like the board, then ride it. I know several guys who do flip tricks on 9" boards and rarely skate vert.
um…i need a song for my skatepart but i dont no what song to use….it should be short cause i dont get that much footage any one have ideas or suggestions?

SKYDIVINGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…
omg i would love to skidive but with a bmx or skateboard you now how cool that will be xD but how long till you have to open ur chute i mean i wanna do tricks and stuuff xD
Hell yeah use the bmx bike you can do backflips 1080's and all that good stuff. Skateboards are boring to skydive with. I mean what can you do on a skateboard that you can do on a bike? Nothing. You cant tailwhips or nothing. The most you can do on a board is backflip….boooo…
ive had these skateboard trucks for 2 years but barely used them. they squeak when i lean from side to side
It's pretty common for trucks to squeak. It;s just the bushings rubbing against the metal on the trucks. It usually goes away in warmer weather. You can try powdered graphite on all the contact areas, or replace the bushings. It won;t hurt the bushings or the trucks to have them squeak. Most people get used to the squeaking and don't notice it after a while.
