Do you think venture skateboard trucks are good ? What skateboarding trick do you think is the best in transworlds and now skateboard video?
Dec 20

I'm a 19 yr old girl, and my friend and I really want to learn how to skateboard. How do I know what skateboard to choose as a first timer?

Complete skateboards are ok to start with, plus you save money, but if you decide to buy custom parts for your skateboard, read on.

I suggest these…

Deck brands - Almost, Baker, Habitat, Girl, Mystery, Santa Cruz and Zero are great. About $50 and above. But if you do decide to go cheaper, get Mini Logo, their are seriously good for their price,$30, as good as pro boards.

Bearings - Bones Reds, $15. Very good bearings, easy to maintain.

Griptape - Any would do, Jessup, Black Magic and MOB are great.
About $4 - $7.

Wheels - Wheels don't make much difference, so blank shop wheels are good, they are around $15. For branded ones, which cost twice as much,
I suggest Spitfire, Ricta and Bones. But seriously don't go too expensive on wheels.

Trucks - I like Venture and Independent. They last long, Independent lasts longer though and Venture turn smooth. Thunder trucks are great too and Krux are smooth while grinding. Get any of these and the exact same size of your deck or a little bit smaller. Maybe $30 - $40 a pair.

Additions : Any hardware would do. Riser pads reduce/prevent stress cracks on your deck, if you do want them though. Hardware $1-4, Riser Pads $2-$5.

The lowest price you can get is $95 and highest is a little over $150.
But the quality is the same, so just buy anything that you like!

For the size of your skateboard, it depends on your shoe size and height.
Shoe size 5 - 7 = 7.5" wide
Shoe size 7.5 - 9 = 7.75"
Bigger shoe size, wider deck.
Below 5 feet tall = 31" long and below
5' - 5'9" = 31 - 32" long
5'10" and above =32 - 33" long or longer

if the store is bigger that your drive, gert out of there.
zumiez is the best store to go to to get your first dek.
i would say using only a platimum deal there.
buy a deck like… almost, enjoi, or girl.
for wheels. if your going to skate on the street, for shure yuo must skate RICTA wheels. if you skate on halfpipes, get spitfire bigheads. get LUCKY bearings, any kind are best.
TENSOR, THUNDER, or KRUX trucks are good. any kind works, though.

Go to Zumiez, they'll recommend you some good stuff. Id say get a blank deck to save money, its still top notch but it costs way less than the pro decks. Bones reds bearings are really good for their price. As for the other parts, get whatever looks cool. As long as youre shopping at zumiez you dont have to worry about crappy stuff. Its all top notch. Just ask the people working their for advice whenver you need it.
