so i really want to learn how to skateboard…but i don’t know ANYTHING about it….like what is a good board (for beginners)…how long does it take to learn…and do you teach yourself….or what?
and also…how do i determine how big to get my skateboard?
oh yea…can you costumize a skateboard…and put i picture of something on it?
It took me a couple of days to learn by myself, I just held on to a table or something on wood until a got how it felt, then I tried moving without holding onto things then I just practiced.

well if you dont want to spend a lot of money you can go to toys r us, but you usually can get boards already put toogether for about 100 dollars at a skateshop. Also it depends if you want to street skate or got to a skatepark and try the ramps. If you want to street skate you want smaller hard tires with a light board. If you want to go to the skatepark then try a haevier board with a bigger size of tires. Ok it will feel wierd just starting out. You will have to get used to kicking off to get yourself going and whatnot. Then learning to go faster and stuff is easy. Ollies are hard to learn at first but once you get the hang it is easy! Good luck(ps other tricks are hard to learn and should be tried with caution!)

It maybe be a little embarrassing at first, but you can always go to a skatepark, get social, and ask a few skaters for some tips. They'll likely be more than helpful. Any board you buy at a skateshop will be decent. For a beginner, especially a girl, it's best to buy a smaller, thinner deck. 7.5" inch wide is what you want. Don't worry too much about the trucks, wheels, or bearings. It won't matter too much what kind you have if you're a beginner. Just get whatever they recommend at the shop. They'll put everything together for you.
