so i really want to learn how to skateboard…but i don’t know ANYTHING about it….like what is a good board (for beginners)…how long does it take to learn…and do you teach yourself….or what?
and also…how do i determine how big to get my skateboard?
oh yea…can you costumize a skateboard…and put i picture of something on it?

It took me a couple of days to learn by myself, I just held on to a table or something on wood until a got how it felt, then I tried moving without holding onto things then I just practiced.

Working for a snowboard, skateboard and/or BMX magazine, and What would you have to do to prepare yourself for this career?

Good luck with that! Call or write those magazines and ask for their submission guidelines, then when you submit your photos follow their instructions to the letter. But first actually get and read a few issues of those magazines and pay particular interest to the photos. Study them so you know what they will use. Get a copy of photographers market and there are many magazines listed there with their guidelines.

hi i was wonderin how i should clean my skateboards grip tape…i just got it and my shoes were kinda dirty and now my grip tape looks ugh…so i was wonderin if theres a way to clean it without messin it up? also is it true liquids ruin ur grip tape?

Don’t put liquid on it.

Go to your local skate shop to see if they ahve grip gum. If they don’t, order online. It works great. I always spray paint graffiti on my griptape, so I reguraly use grip gum to keep it good looking.

My girlfriend is turning 16 and I’m going to buy her a new complete skateboard. She is pretty small so I need something light, but girly. Anyone have any ideas?

As some of the People have already stated Blinds, Baker, Zeros, Santa Cruz’s, Girls, Chocolates, These are all great pro Boards. But my personal opinion is to take here down to a skate shop and let here pick it out. If you want to pick it out for here. Id say check around your local skate shops and talk to the sale clerks. different Shops have different Boards. And depending on where you live you might have great boards iv never herd of. So Tell the clerk what your looking for. Check out the pop of the board and go from there. I hope i helped. :)

I can't find backpacks with skateboard straps in any stores. Besides, judging by pictures, the straps just look like bands of fabric that keep the skateboard in place. Are they more than that, or can I just lash the board on using cords, or even sew my own strap on?
Thanks for the answers, everyone, but what I really want to know is how I can attach one to a /normal/ backpack. Living in Canada, I can't find any of the stores you've mentioned, and the local skate shops are hella expensive.

go to pac sun or zumies they arent in regular stores or go to a skate shop

A complete skateboard. Also, where can I get some girly skateboards? Like with pink on the bottom? …Does Fox Racing make any skateboards?

Price varies depending on what brand of board you get. It also depends on what your buying…just the deck or the whole set-up.
Most good boards range any where from $100 to $200, sometimes more, sometimes less.
As for deck graphics, you can go into a local skateshop and see what type they carry, or you can go on-line and find a "girly" one. (You can also customize one, but that's going to cost extra money.)
Hope this helps you out a little, good luck man.

I just learned how to skateboard the other day on one of my friends skateboards. I want to get a skateboard of my own. What would be a good brand of skateboard for someone who just learned? I've been looking at Angelboy skateboards are those any good or not?

Depends what kinda skateboarding you want to get into if you want to learn tricks like ollies and kickflips i recommend a non-expensive skateboard unless money is not and issue because learning tricks often results in breaking of skateboards!! believe me i went through 3 of them learning to do a hard flip!!! if ur getting a skateboard to just ride and around and get from point A to B then get a skateboard that has a nice feel when you stand on it and has some good bearings so you dont have to push the skateboard every second! if you want a skateboard to just impress your friends then buy the most expensive one you can!…

I am just starting out skateboarding and wanted to know what the best skateboard was that i could start off with is.

If you're in the UK then I would recommend trying Rollersnakes (www.rollersnakes.co.uk). I ordered my board last Thursday on three day shipping, and lo and behold it turned up on Friday!

I would recommend buying the cheapest board you can find that is of a decent quality. I bought a Stateside Voltage Decades Hippy board and couldn't be more pleases with it. Good luck!!
